I managed to find the economic statistics for second life, but no total number of residents was included that I found.
I didn't realise there was a podcasting question. Sorry, I've updated the podcast with news from BarcampScotland - an informal Unconference that I attended on Saturday in Edinburgh. If you listen - the bag pipes are authentic!
Woah there Brian, I get 4,306,472 residents in Second Life right now.
Does that mean more than 1000 people signed up in the last hour?
Seems like a good recruitment rate!
It would seem so. I just copied and pasted from their site. Depends on if the site is real-time info, or updated every x hours just how much it progressed. I'm guessing its only updated occassionally, because I just checked 5 minutes later and it is the same as when you checked. If they are really doing 1500 an hour, it should have already gone up, right?
